Ca-RA-zy hair!!

Julianne's hair is starting to get long-ish and it is getting harder and harder to tame. It doesn't help when she wakes up from her nap looking like this...
And, unfortunately, my kids have inherited the gene that makes it impossible to keep their eyes open in pictures. Sorry, guys.

New Fabric

Okay, so I found this really cute fabric at JoAnn's. The original intention was to make my mom some kitchen towels but I love it so much that I think I will make a few things for my own kitchen (in addition to my mom's towels). An apron maybe?? I'll have to find a pattern... It's kind of whimsical so I won't go making a tablecloth out of it or anything, but used in moderation, I think it's pretty darn cute! Anyway, kind of a boring post, but I just had to share!

New Cooking Blog

Rebecca (mom-in-law) recently told me about this cooking website called "The Pioneer Woman Cooks". I love to cook and experiment (not always successfully) with new recipes. Nothing fancy, because we're just not the little-strips-of-pretty-food-arranged-on-a-plate kind of people. Casseroles and pasta dishes are my fave because my kids have no idea what's really in it besides noodles/rice/chicken and sauce. As a matter of fact, I tell Jacob that anything green is "seasoning". Yes, even spinach. Anyway, I digress...
I love this new website!!! She takes step-by-step photos of everything she does and even adds humorous captions. I haven't made anything yet, but I'm in the process of saving all of the recipes I like in a word.doc for future menus.
Some things that sound delicious so far...
Sleepin'-in omelette casserole
Apple Dumplings
Penne a la Betsy

Let me know if you try anything!!!

Oh, here's the website: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/

Jacob's 4th Birthday Party

Saturday was a big day for our little man. It was his 4th birthday AND his birthday party. Granna and Pops were nice enough to let us use their pool/backyard for the Pirate-themed event. Everyone had a great time running around, "walking the plank", playing games, eating pizza and of course, SWIMMING! Jacob was so exhausted that he fell asleep in the car on the way home (and, of course, I took a picture of that, too).

Our New Blog Home

Welcome to the new and improved (and much easier to use!) Patterson Four blog!! I had to abandon all of our old Wordpress posts because a) I couldn't figure out how to transfer them over and b) I don't have time to MANUALLY copy and paste everything into Blogger. If you would like to see what we have been up to thus far, go to www.thepattersonfour.wordpress.com.
